 | | TÜV SÜD has officially approved the efficiency of Nemetschek’s graphic quantity takeoff for the third time in a row. The term “graphic quantity takeoff” means seamless data exchange between the 3D planning and design software Allplan BIM 2008 and Allplan BCM, the solution for construction cost management, tender award and billing. Using the quantities calculated from Allplan, the corresponding bills of quantities can be calculated in accordance with German building regulation VOB 2006 in a single operation.

Using an inspection catalog, TÜV SÜD Product Service GmbH has been testing the quality of the software thoroughly since October. The catalog is based on standards like ISO IEC 12119 for software functionality and the German Construction Contract Procedures (VOB). The most frequently used components – including reinforced concrete wall, walling, dry wall, slabs, columns, windows, doors and finishing surfaces - were examined in particular detail. In addition, important components that are also included in Allplan IBD 2008 were examined.
TÜV SÜD asserts for both the components in the graphic quantity takeoff and for Allplan IBD 2008 that “The requirements in terms of functionality and the underlying system are fulfilled with the current software version.” Nemetschek Allplan has received confirmation for the coveted certificate three times already – it is the only company in the industry to do so.
Michael Kießling, Business Manager for Cost Management at the Munich-based software company, emphasizes: “The renewed TÜV SÜD certification confirms the high degree of practicality of our solution. We are a clear pioneer when it comes to efficient, software-assisted quantity takeoff and cost determination.”
